He's been with Universal for 20 years.
What was the scariest or most challenging pivot?
Sales in the entertainment industry - had to sell something every 15 minutes. If after an hour he had less than 4 sales he was looking at a difficult day. Going from that to spending his day finding potential students - he had to find the students. He had 4 weeks to recruit the students and could only know for sure how many had enrolled on the first day. If he had a bad month, it would take another month to "redeem" himself.
It works the same way for me when I charge a one time fee for courses. Each month I start from 0 and I have to go get people enrolled!
When Universal Accounting started there were physical classes. Now they are 100% online. Now that they got rid of those hard costs, they can offer curriculum more affordably. They faced the same question and decided to charge for the class. They are a "post secondary" school, so it works like a school. They offer financing so you can make payments.
